The Gallery on the 52nd Floor

 

The iconic Kingdom Tower in the heart of Riyadh houses one of the best galleries in Saudi Arabia. Perched high up on the 52nd floor, Hewar Gallery, as its name signifies, calls for a dialogue through the varied means of artistic expression bringing people together with a common understanding and a love for the arts. Since it opened its doors in 2006, Hewar Gallery, pledged commitment to promote the arts in the Arab region. The gallery aims to take the lead in promoting the arts through engaging in and organizing exhibitions. The gallery showcases artworks of artists from all over the world especially those whose paintings and sculptures are influenced by the heritage, culture and the environment of the Arab world. Saudi artists whose works reflect a fusion of both the Western and Arab cultures are also featured.

The gallery has become a home to a host of the finest art works by the contemporary painters and sculptors from within and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The gallery also brings together masterpieces of renowned artists from all over the world. The gallery is owned by Shatha Al-Tassan, an art collector and patron herself, whose standards for the best in contemporary artwork reflects upon the space and exhibitions. Hewar has exhibited the work of more than a hundred and forty well-known artists since 2006; a testament to the gallery's dynamic atmosphere with curated art exhibitions taking place each month or couple of months. Other than the exhibitions themselves, the gallery also welcomes artists to work in their 52nd floor studio. Art talks, press conferences, and non-profit organizations' activities take place at the gallery.
